LinguaThe silent one and the two-faced one
g h i j k l m brings the only two irregular letters Spanish has. H is always silent – hola begins with the o. G has two faces: before a, o, u it is the g of gato; before e and i it becomes the harsh sound of j, made at the back of the throat.
G is a C with a shelf inside. H is two posts and a bar – and it says nothing at all.
J is a hook hanging below the line. K is rare in Spanish – it appears almost only in words borrowed from other languages.
L is a post with a foot; the small l is only the post. M has three legs, and n has two – count them.
