Terms of Service

1. Who we are

LinguaPair is provided by Thuyen Nguyen, an individual based in Vietnam. Contact: support@linguap.com, phone +84 394 764 921.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to agree to these terms in your country. You must provide accurate information when you register and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Pairing with a partner

LinguaPair is designed for two people to learn together. When you pair with a partner, certain progress and features are shared between your accounts. Only pair with someone you trust. Either partner may unlink the pair at any time in the app.

4. Premium subscriptions

• Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription inside the app, through the App Store or Google Play. The price, the billing period and any free trial are shown before you buy; payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Free trial. If a plan offers a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription at the price shown when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Cancelling. Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Subscriptions). Deleting the app or your LinguaPair account does not cancel it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules; we cannot refund store purchases ourselves.
• One subscription gives Premium to both partners while they are paired. Payments on the website are not offered at the moment.

5. The test group

• The test group is a free, time-limited program: members get Premium without paying and try new features before everyone else. Places are limited; the operator decides on applications and may end a membership at any time.
• Activity rule. A member uses LinguaPair at least once every 14 days – opening the app or the website while signed in and online is enough (use without internet counts once the app syncs). After 7 days without use we send a reminder, and another one a day before the end; after 14 days the test access and the Premium it gives (also to your partner) end automatically. You can apply again while places are open.
• Test-group emails. The reminders, the notice that the test access has ended and changes to these rules are sent by email (the reminders also as notifications in the app). They are part of the program and cannot be turned off while you are a member; to stop them, leave the group in your profile at any time.
• The end of a membership, for any reason, gives no right to compensation. A subscription you bought yourself is not affected.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe others’ rights while using the app.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is harmful or abusive.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Resell or misuse the service or another user’s account.

7. Your content and copyright

You keep ownership of content you upload (such as subtitle files). You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the features you use. You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights to use it.

If you believe content in LinguaPair infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@linguap.com naming the work, where it appears and how to reach you; we will remove infringing material promptly.

8. AI features

Translations, lesson content, voice-overs and some illustrations are produced or assisted by AI. They can be inaccurate; do not rely on them where a mistake could cause harm, and they are not professional advice.

9. Cancellation & deletion

You can stop using LinguaPair at any time and permanently delete your account and personal data in the app or on the website under Account → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is irreversible and unlinks you from your partner. See our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data.

10. Disclaimers & liability

LinguaPair is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please write to us – most problems can be solved that way.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
