Terms of Service

1. Your account

You must provide accurate information when you register and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use LinguaPair.

2. Pairing with a partner

LinguaPair is designed for two people to learn together. When you pair with a partner, certain progress and features are shared between your accounts. Only pair with someone you trust. Either partner may unlink the pair at any time in the app.

3. Premium subscriptions

• Premium features are offered on a recurring subscription. Prices and what’s included are shown before you purchase.
• Web payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe). You can update payment details or cancel at any time through the billing portal, reachable from Account → Billing → Manage subscription.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled according to the rules of the store or provider you purchased through and applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe others’ rights while using the app.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is harmful or abusive.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Resell or misuse the service or another user’s account.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you upload (such as subtitle files). You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the features you use. You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights to use it.

6. Cancellation & deletion

You can stop using LinguaPair at any time and permanently delete your account and personal data in the app under Account → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is irreversible and unlinks you from your partner. See our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data.

7. Disclaimers & liability

LinguaPair is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
