How the test works

Six levels, A1 to C2. The test starts at the level you pick and asks six questions per level – choosing, filling gaps, building sentences, translating, listening and, if you allow the microphone, speaking.

It stops as soon as it knows: a level you clearly pass moves you up, a level you clearly miss ends the test.

The result places you on the matching lesson of the course. You can retake the test once a week; your answers are saved if you leave.

What the levels mean

• A1 – you manage greetings, simple questions and the present tense.
• A2 – everyday situations: shopping, directions, plans, the past.
• B1 – you hold a conversation, tell a story, explain an opinion.
• B2 – you follow films and articles, argue a point, notice register.
• C1 – you read anything, speak precisely, and idiom comes naturally.
• C2 – near-native: nuance, style, wordplay.
