Checkpoint: A to R

Eighteen letters so far

You have met a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r – eighteen of the twenty-six. Before the last eight, check the three things that actually decide whether you can read: the shape of each letter, which way it faces, and the difference between a letter’s NAME and its SOUND.

One shape, four letters. Read it left to right: b, d, p, q. Circle right and line up; circle left and line up; circle right and line down; circle left and line down.

Count the legs before you decide: m stands on three, n on two.
