Where it starts

English uses the Latin alphabet. The A0 level teaches the 26 letters, the sounds they make in real words and the spellings that do not follow the rules; A1 starts speaking from the first lesson.

With your partner

If your partner speaks English, the live translator carries your conversations while you learn: you speak your language, they hear English, and the words you needed most land in your vocabulary trainer. If you both learn English, you share one course and race each other in the games.

Questions about this course

How long does it take to reach B1 in English?
The A1 and A2 levels together are about a hundred lessons – three to four months at one lesson a day, with the translator adding real words every day. B1 is the following stage; how fast it goes depends mostly on how much English you hear and read around you.
Do I need to know the Latin alphabet first?
No. A0 teaches the letters and their sounds with audio and stroke order before A1 begins. If you already read Latin letters, skip to A1 or take the level test.
Can I learn English from an interface in another language?
Yes. The app speaks all six languages; the lesson explanations, the word meanings and the exercise instructions come in yours, and only the material is in English.
