LinguaSix letters, and two that work in pairs
s t u v w x finish almost the whole alphabet. Two of them do their most useful work joined to another letter: s with h gives the hush of she, and t with h gives the sound at the start of think – a sound many languages do not have at all. And x almost never starts a word; you meet it at the end, in box and six.
S is one wave, written from the top; t is a post with a bar across it, and the bar comes second.
U is a bowl with a line down its right side; v is two straight strokes meeting at a point.
W is two v shapes side by side. X is two strokes crossing; write the down-right one first.
