I am, you are
We use the verb to be to say who we are and how we feel. With I, we say am. With you, we say are.

You are tired.
Say your name
To tell your name, you can say My name is ... or I'm .... Both are common. I'm ... is shorter and very natural in conversation.
My name is Leo.
I'm Leo.
Say how you feel
After am or are, we can use feeling words. For example: happy, tired, and hungry. These words describe a person.
