LinguaThe family: plurals and haben
Many family plurals change the vowel: Brüder, Mütter, Väter, Töchter, Söhne. die Eltern, die Großeltern and die Geschwister are always plural. With haben, one masculine person is einen (einen Bruder), one feminine eine (eine Tochter), one neuter ein (ein Kind), and none is kein/keine (keine Geschwister).
Hast du Kinder? – Ja, zwei Töchter.Do you have children? – Yes, two daughters.

Always ask two questions. Who owns it? That gives the word (a man → sein, a woman or several people → ihr). What is owned? That gives the ending (-e with die words and the plural). And after sein the adjective takes no ending: Meine Tante ist nett. Before a noun it does: Sie hat braune Augen.
Ist das euer Hund? – Nein, das ist ihr Hund.Is that your dog? – No, that’s their dog.
Seine Tante ist klein und sehr nett.His aunt is short and very nice.
