Checkpoint: A Day in Korean

A weekday, start to finish

With this unit a day can be told in order and in full: 저는 보통 일곱 시에 일어나요. 아침에 씻어요. 아침은 안 먹어요. 아홉 시부터 여섯 시까지 회사에서 일해요. 저녁에 친구하고 같이 밥을 먹어요. 열두 시에 자요. Every sentence puts the time first, then the place, then what happens; the negations sit right before the verb; the companion takes 하고 and 같이.

The small words that carry the meaning

Three pairs decided everything in this unit. 에 on a time against no particle on 오늘, 지금, 매일. 안 for a choice against 못 for an inability. 하고 in speech against 와/과 in writing, with the reversed vowel rule. Get these three pairs right and the rest of the sentence takes care of itself.
