He is, she is, they are

人や物について話すときは、主語代名詞を使います。he, she, it, we, they です。これらの代名詞では、動詞 to be の形が is または are に変わります。このレッスンでは、「だれが何者か」を言えるようにします。

He は男性や男の子に使います。She は女性や女の子に使います。It は、he や she を使わない物や動物に使います。

He is a student.彼は学生です。

She is my teacher.彼女は私の先生です。

We は、話し手と他の人たちを表します。They は、複数の他の人や物を表します。we と they には are を使います。

We are friends.私たちは友達です。

They are girls.彼女たちは女の子です。

短縮形

ふだんの英語では、短縮形 をよく使います。He is = he's, she is = she's, it is = it's, we are = we're, they are = they're です。これらの短縮形は、話すときも書くときもとてもよく使われます。

He's my friend.彼は私の友達です。

They're teachers.彼らは先生です。
