LinguaCheckpoint: Right Now & Plans
In this checkpoint, you review three ideas: can/can’t, the present continuous, and going to. Use can for ability and permission, the present continuous for actions happening now, and going to for plans.
1) Can / can’t
Use can to talk about ability: I can swim. Use can and can’t to ask for and give permission too: Can I go?

2) Present Continuous
Use the present continuous for something happening now. The form is am/is/are + verb-ing.

She is cooking dinner now.
3) Going to
Use be going to for plans and intentions. It often goes with future time words like tomorrow and next week.
