LinguaHouses and flats
a casa is a house and also “home”; in the cities most people live in o apartamento, in o prédio (block of flats). Floors: o rés-do-chão (ground floor), o primeiro andar, o segundo andar. An address often says 3.º esquerdo – third floor, door on the left.
Flats are named by bedrooms: o T0 (studio), o T1 (one bedroom), o T2 (two bedrooms), o T3.

What a home has
Say what a home has with ter: O apartamento tem dois quartos. A casa não tem garagem. Ask what there is with há: Há elevador no prédio?
Moro num T2 no terceiro andar: tem sala, cozinha, dois quartos e uma casa de banho.I live in a two-bedroom flat on the third floor: it has a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
