Hoy Luis ayuda a su hermana Ana con la mudanza. Ana es profesora y está contenta: por fin puede vivir en una casa cerca de su escuela. El piso está en la segunda planta. El ascensor funciona, pero Luis está cansado después de subir muchas cajas.
–Estoy un poco nervioso –dice–. El armario no pasa por la puerta.
–La puerta del dormitorio es más ancha. Vamos por allí.
El dormitorio está a la izquierda de la entrada. La cama está al lado de la ventana. El salón está a la derecha. El sofá está entre una mesa y una lámpara. Encima de la mesa hay una caja de libros; debajo de la mesa duerme el perro. La cocina está detrás de la puerta verde. La nevera está vacía. El baño es pequeño y tiene una ventana delante de un árbol.
–¿Dónde están mamá y papá? –pregunta Luis.
–Mamá está en el trabajo. Papá está enfermo y está en casa.
–¿Está triste?
–Un poco. Quiere ayudarnos, pero necesita descansar.
El perro se despierta. Está aburrido y quiere salir.
–Yo también quiero estar fuera un rato –dice Luis–. ¿Hay un supermercado por aquí?
Ana no conoce bien el barrio. Los dos bajan con el perro y preguntan a una vecina. La vecina está ocupada, pero les explica el camino.
–El supermercado está en la calle del Sol. Sigan todo recto. Tienen que girar a la derecha en la esquina. La plaza está delante de ustedes; el supermercado está al lado de la plaza.
–¿Y la estación?
–Está lejos de aquí. Hay una parada de autobús cerca de la plaza. La parada está delante de la panadería. El banco está detrás de la panadería. El hospital está entre el banco y la escuela.
Luis compra pan, leche y fruta. Ana espera fuera con el perro. Después van al parque y llaman a su padre.
–Estamos bien. La casa ya está casi lista –dice Ana.
–Me alegro. ¿Es caro alquilar en ese barrio?
–No mucho. Y la escuela está cerca de casa.
Vuelven con la compra. Ahora hay leche en la nevera, pan en la cocina y dos personas con ganas de cenar.
