Linguaね and よ: two ways to end a sentence
A Japanese sentence often ends with a particle that says what the speaker expects back. ね invites agreement about something you both already see – いいてんきですね is not news, it is an offer to share. よ does the opposite: it hands over information the listener did not have. Choosing the wrong one is not a grammar error but a social one – ね where you meant よ sounds as if you assumed the other person already knew.

Correcting without contradicting
そうです confirms a guess and ちがいます corrects it, and the second is softer than a bare いいえ because it says the guess is different rather than that the speaker is wrong. そうですか with a falling tone means “I see” and is not a question at all; with a rising tone it asks for confirmation. そうですね buys a moment to think and is what a Japanese speaker says before disagreeing.
