C'è or è? A last look
C’è (one) and ci sono (two or more) bring something new into the room, usually with un, una or a number. È and sono tell where a known thing is – usually with il, la, i, le. A short answer keeps the same verb: C’è un balcone? – Sì, c’è. / No, non c’è.
