You can now name the people in a family – from os avós to os sobrinhos, including the family by marriage – say how many you have with ter, and say whose something is in four ways: with meu / minha, with seu / sua for você, with dele / dela after the noun, and with de + a name: a casa da Ana.

Two kinds of agreement
meu, minha, seu, sua, nosso, nossa look at the thing owned: a man says minha bicicleta, a woman says meu carro. dele, dela, deles, delas look at the owner: o carro dela is a woman’s car, a bicicleta dele a man’s bicycle. The same logic gives os pais, os avós, os irmãos for mixed groups – one man in the group is enough for the masculine plural.
