LinguaMore verbs that work like gustar
Encantar is a stronger gustar: to love. Interesar is to interest, parecer is to seem. All three build the sentence exactly like gustar – pronoun first, then the verb agreeing with the thing: Me encanta el chocolate. Me interesan los idiomas. Me parece interesante.

Notice two things in the table. Encantar never takes mucho – it is already the maximum. And odiar is an ordinary verb: I am the subject (odio, odias, odia), not the thing.

The family's tastes
To say what someone else likes, name them with a and keep the pronoun le (or les for several people): A mi hermana le encanta bailar. A mis padres les gusta viajar. A Juan y a mí nos interesa la historia.
A mi padre le encanta el fútbol, pero a mi madre no le interesa nada.My father loves football, but my mother is not interested in it at all.
¿Te interesan los idiomas? – Sí, me parecen fascinantes.Are you interested in languages? – Yes, I find them fascinating.
