1. There is e there are

Usa there is per una sola cosa e there are per due o più cose. Queste forme si usano per dire che cosa c’è in una stanza, in una casa o in un luogo.

interrogativa	Is there a table?	Are there any books?

There is a lamp in the bedroom.In camera da letto c’è una lampada.

2. I mobili e gli oggetti della casa

Usa le parole della casa come bed, sofa, table, chair, lamp, fridge, cooker, shower e mirror per descrivere le stanze. Puoi dire che cosa c’è in una stanza con there is/are e che cosa ha una persona o una casa con have got.

We have got a big fridge in the kitchen.In cucina abbiamo un frigorifero grande.

3. Le preposizioni di luogo

Usa in, on, under, next to, behind, in front of e between per dire dove si trovano le cose. Chiedi la posizione con Where is + nome? o Where are + nome?

The mirror is between the window and the door.Lo specchio è tra la finestra e la porta.

4. Riepilogo veloce

Per descrivere una casa, metti insieme questi elementi: there is/are per ciò che c’è, il lessico della casa per la stanza e gli oggetti, e le preposizioni per il luogo. Esempio: There are two chairs next to the table.
