Use there is para uma coisa só e there are para duas coisas ou mais. Essas formas servem para dizer o que há num cômodo, numa casa ou num lugar.

2. Os móveis e os objetos da casa
Use as palavras da casa, como bed, sofa, table, chair, lamp, fridge, cooker, shower e mirror, para descrever os cômodos. Você pode dizer o que há num cômodo com there is/are e o que uma pessoa ou uma casa tem com have got.
We have got a big fridge in the kitchen.Nós temos uma geladeira grande na cozinha.
3. As preposições de lugar
Use in, on, under, next to, behind, in front of e between para dizer onde as coisas estão. Pergunte a posição com Where is + substantivo? ou Where are + substantivo?
