Some times take に and some refuse it
A time that can be pointed to on a clock or a calendar takes A time that is defined only in relation to now refuses it: The test is simple – if you could write the time as a number, it takes に; if it moves with the day you say it, it does not.
| Takes に | Refuses に |
|---|---|
から and まで keep working on time
The pair you learnt for routes marks opening hours, working weeks and lesson times without any change: Either half may stand alone, and から on its own is the normal way to give a starting time: しごとはくじからです says nothing about when work ends, which is often the honest answer.
I leave the house at seven.
The shop is open from ten to eight.
