In a shop: the price question and килограмм сахара

Two questions that buy almost everything

A shop needs one question about price and one about stock, and Russian gives you both in three words each. Сколько стоит asks the price of one thing and сколько стоят the price of several; У вас есть asks whether the shop has the thing at all, and the thing after it stays in its dictionary form.

How much of it: килограмм, литр, бутылка

Getting through the shop

The word продукты covers everything edible and is also what a grocer's is called. A скидка is a price cut, which you will see written on a shelf far more often than you hear it said. And every shop ends the same way: at the касса, where you pay and where the verb купить finally comes true.
