siga, vire, atravesse, passe are polite commands, for o senhor, a senhora or a stranger. To a friend (tu) say segue em frente, vira à esquerda, atravessa.
Through: pelo, pela
por (through, by) joins the article: por + o = pelo, por + a = pela. Passe pela praça. (Go through the square.) O autocarro passa pelo centro.
Siga em frente, vire à direita no semáforo e o banco fica ao fundo da rua.Go straight on, turn right at the traffic lights and the bank is at the end of the street.
