gostar de + infinitive: Gosto de nadar. Before a verb there is no article, so it is always de, never do or da. Sports go with jogar: jogar futebol, jogar vôlei. Instruments go with tocar: tocar violão, tocar piano – in Brazil usually without an article.
O meu irmão toca violão, e a minha irmã adora dançar.My brother plays the guitar, and my sister loves dancing.
Football
In Brazil a team is o time (not a equipe in everyday talk about football). To support a team is torcer para: Torço para o Flamengo. The classic question: Pra que time você torce? A match is o jogo: O jogo é às quatro.

Temperature goes with fazer, always in the ele form and with no subject: Faz calor. Hoje faz frio. Chover also has only that form: Chove muito em abril. For what is happening now use estar: Está chovendo. Está nublado. In speech you often hear tá calor too.
