Having things: “I have” with عندي، لي، معي

No verb “to have”

Arabic says “I have” with a preposition and a suffix. عِنْدِي سَيَّارَةٌ (ʿindī sayyāra) – “I have a car”, literally “at me a car”. لِي أَخٌ (lī ʾakh) – “I have a brother”, “to me a brother”. مَعِي مَالٌ (maʿī māl) – “I have money on me”, “with me money”.
