LinguaHouse or flat?
In Brazilian cities many people live in o apartamento inside o prédio (a building). Big buildings often form o condomínio, a closed complex with a gate. The floors are counted from o térreo (the ground floor): o primeiro andar is one floor up. With a floor you say no: Moro no terceiro andar.

Tem: what a home has
To say what a home has, use ter: O apartamento tem dois quartos. With several people or things the form is têm, with a circumflex: Eles têm uma casa grande. The sound is the same, the accent is spelling. A question is the same sentence with a rising voice: Tem garagem? – Tem. / Não tem. Short answers repeat the verb, not sim.
– A casa tem quintal? – Não tem, mas tem uma varanda grande.– Does the house have a yard? – No, but it has a big balcony.
